       Quintain Estates & Development plc ('Quintain' / the 'Company')


                    Appointment of Non Executive Director


Quintain today announces that it has appointed David Pangbourne to the Board
as a non executive Director, with immediate effect. In addition to his other
non executive responsibilities, it is intended that David will chair
Quintain's audit committee.

David, 61, is a qualified chartered accountant. He retired from Deloitte &
Touche as a partner in 1997, where he had remained throughout his accountancy
career. David has  extensive experience  in advising companies on taxation,
treasury and corporate finance. He has also worked with a number of public and
private property companies, including Hammerson plc.

There are no further matters to be disclosed in accordance with paragraph 16.4
of the Listing Rules of the UK Listing Authority.

'David will bring a wealth of experience to Quintain. This appointment will
further consolidate the Quintain board following the recent executive
appointments of Michael Riley and Rebecca Worthington.'
