      Quintain Estates and Development plc ('Quintain' / the 'Company')

                             Appointments


Following the further expansion of Quintain, the Company is pleased to
announce a strengthening of its management team.


Michael Riley will become Deputy Chief Executive on joining the Company in
August 2001, reporting to Adrian Wyatt, the Chief Executive. In this role he
will work with Adrian Wyatt to oversee the day-to-day management function and
identify new opportunities to expand the Company's operations and activities.


Nicholas Shattock, Property Director, will continue to be responsible for the
group's portfolio.


In addition, the board is pleased to announce that Rebecca Worthington, who
joined the Company in 1998, has been appointed Finance Director.


No other disclosures with regard to Michael Riley or Rebecca Worthington are
required in accordance with paragraph 16.4 of the Listing Rules of the UK
Listing Authority.
