Quintain Appoints Finance Director

Quintain Estates & Development PLC has appointed Simon Carter as Finance Director with effect from 26 May 2015.

Simon will join Quintain from British Land Co PLC ("British Land"), where he is Head of Strategy and a member of the Executive Committee. He has worked for the FTSE 100 property company for 10 years and his previous roles include Corporate Finance Executive and Head of Treasury and Capital Markets. Before joining British Land, Simon worked for UBS in fixed income and he started his career at Arthur Andersen where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2000.

Max James, Chief Executive of Quintain, said: "I am delighted that Simon will be joining us from British Land, where he has gathered excellent experience across several senior financial roles. His broad expertise makes him ideally suited to join the Quintain Board as Finance Director as we continue to implement our strategy."

Simon Carter said: "I am thrilled to be joining Max and the team at this exciting time for Quintain and look forward to playing a key role driving the Company's financial and strategic performance. I would like to thank my current colleagues for the very rewarding and enjoyable time I have spent at British Land."

On appointment Mr Carter will receive a basic annual salary of £265,000 and standard benefits commensurate with his position. He will be granted replacement share awards over 977,776 Quintain shares (subject to various sale restrictions and continued employment) in lieu of his entitlement over British Land shares that will be forfeited when he joins Quintain. Mr Carter will also receive a cash payment on joining Quintain of £220,000 in lieu of his annual bonus forfeited at British Land for the FY13/14 performance year. He will participate in the Group's bonus and incentive plans.
