QUINTAIN APPOINT NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Quintain Estates and Development plc announces that Martin Meech has been
appointed to the Board of Directors in a non-executive capacity with effect
from 4th July, 2000.

Mr Meech, is currently Managing Director of Dixons Group Retail Properties
Limited, after being the Group Property & Development Director for the Dixons
Stores Group.  Martin is a member of the property committee of the British
Retail Consortium and the British Council of Out of Town Retail.

Commenting on the appointment, Nigel Ellis, Chairman, said

wealth of experience and business acumen.'
