In accordance with Listing Rule 9.6.14, Quintain Estates and Development plc announces that Simon Laffin, non-executive director, has been appointed as a non-executive director of Mitchells and Butlers plc with effect from 29 January 2009.  Mr Laffin will be retiring as a non-executive director of Northern Rock plc with effect from 31 December 2008.
