Quintain Estates and Development PLC ('Quintain') -
Directors' Interests in Shares

On 9 June 2003 Rebecca Worthington, a director of Quintain, exercised share
options under the Quintain Estates and Development plc 1996 Approved Share
Option Scheme and the Quintain Estates and Development PLC Executive Share
Option (No.2) Scheme over a total of 36,450 ordinary 25p shares in Quintain as
follows:

On exercise 24,443 shares were sold immediately at a price of £2.90 per share,
which were sufficient to cover the costs of exercising all the options and the
shares she is retaining plus his tax liability.  The entire balance has been
reinvested in Quintain stock.

Following this transaction she now holds a total of 28,482 ordinary shares in
Quintain, representing an increase of 12,007 shares.
