Acquisition of publishing assets
Quarto, the London based and listed international book publisher in co-edition
and under its own imprints, has acquired, from the Administrator, the publishing
assets (principally comprising the rights to backlist titles) of Marshall
Editions, Marshall Developments and Marshall Publishing, international
co-edition book publishers.
The consideration, payable in cash, is £568,000 initially plus up to a further
£697,000 conditionally, making a maximum of £1,265,000.
Laurence Orbach, Quarto's Chairman and Chief Executive, stated 'The backlist of
over 300 titles being acquired will complement Quarto's existing backlist of
some 3,000 titles, which is such an important part of its principal business,
co-edition publishing'.
