Director's Share Purchase

On 12 December 2007 the Company received notification from Peter Johnson, Rank's
non-executive Chairman, that on 12 December 2007 he purchased 20,000 Ordinary 13
8/9p Shares in The Rank Group Plc at a price of 102p per share, thereby taking
his notifiable beneficial share interests to a total of 45,000 Ordinary Shares
(representing 0.01% of Rank's issued share capital).
