The Rank Group Plc Employee Benefit Trust acquires shares
The Trustee of The Rank Group Plc Employee Benefit Trust (the 'Trust'),
established under a trust deed dated 4th October 1996, acquired 250,000
Ordinary shares in The Rank Group Plc for 206 pence per share on 14 September
2001 and a further 650,000 Ordinary shares in The Rank Group Plc for 206 pence
per share on 17 September 2001. The purchases were made in order to meet part
of the Trust's anticipated future requirements for all participating employees
under the Company's long term incentive plan.
As the Trust is a discretionary trust, all executive directors of The Rank
Group Plc are deemed to be interested in the shares held by the Trust. We
therefore advise you that the executive directors of the Company, being
members of the class of potential beneficiaries, are now interested in a total
of 1,224,389 Ordinary shares of 10 pence each in the Company held by the
Trustee.
