Board changes
Peter Gill to resign as finance director; appointment of Paddy Gallagher
The Rank Group Plc ('Rank' or 'the Group') announces that Peter Gill will resign
from his position as finance director and as an executive director of the Rank
board.
Peter Gill will remain with the Group until 1 June 2008, during which time he
will oversee a transition of responsibilities to his successor, Paddy Gallagher.
Paddy, who will join the board of Rank as finance director on 2 June 2008, is
currently chief financial officer at Quadriga Worldwide Limited.
Peter Gill joined Rank as finance director in July 2005. During his time with
the Group, Rank underwent a £1.2bn programme of restructuring, which included
the disposals of Deluxe Film, Deluxe Media, US Holidays and Hard Rock, a major
sale and leaseback transaction and, most recently, the sale of the Rank Pension
Plan.
Peter Johnson, chairman of Rank said: 'Peter has been instrumental in the
successful and substantial restructuring of the Group over the last three years.
He leaves Rank a focused gaming business, in a strong position to address its
challenges and opportunities. On behalf of the board I would like to thank Peter
for his hard work and to wish him every success in the future.'
Peter Gill said: 'I have enjoyed being able to play my part in the
transformation of the Rank Group and have had the privilege of working with a
highly professional and talented group of people. With the restructuring now
complete and the Group entering a new phase in its development, the time is
right to move on.'
