The Rank Group Plc ('Rank') announces the appointment of Owen O'Donnell to the board of Rank as a non-executive director with effect from 11 September 2008.  

Owen O'Donnell, aged 41, is currently chief financial officer of Joost, the online media company. His previous appointments include chief financial officer of the online gaming companies Betfair and King.com. Prior to these roles Owen was director of finance performance management at Pearson plc and finance director of FT.com and Extel.

Peter Johnson, chairman of Rank, said: 'We are delighted to welcome Owen as a member of the Rank board. His extensive experience in internet gaming and his financial background will strengthen our board.'

He will also join Rank's audit committee.

Rank confirms that there is no information to be disclosed under the requirements of Listing Rule 9.6.13 in relation to this appointment.
