Appointment of non-executive director
The Rank Group Plc ("Rank") announces the appointment of Shaa Wasmund to the board of Rank as a non-executive director with effect from 1 November 2012.
Shaa Wasmund, age 40, has had a distinguished digital career advising both start-ups and large corporations. She is an international speaker on the topic of digital media.
She is the founder of Smarta.com, the UK's largest independent online resource for small businesses and Smarta Business Builder; business software as a service for small and medium-sized enterprises.
She has received many industry accolades for her services to small business including from the Institute of Directors and Management Today.
Ian Burke, Rank's chairman and chief executive, said "With her extensive experience in digital media, I am delighted that Shaa is joining the board of Rank and I look forward to working with her."
Rank confirms that there is no information to be disclosed under the requirements of Listing Rule 9.6.13 in relation to this appointment.
Retirement of non-executive director
Having served more than two three-year terms, Bill Shannon has indicated that he wishes to stand down from the board on 31 December 2012. Bill joined the board in April 2006 and has served on its audit, remuneration and nominations committees. Ian Burke, Rank's chairman and chief executive said: "On behalf of the board I would like to thank Bill for his commitment and valued contribution during his time on the board."
