- Notification of Major Interest in Shares

Genting Berhad

On 17 December 2007, the Company received notification (under the obligations
imposed by Section DTR5 of the FSA's Disclosure & Transparency Rules) from
Genting Berhad that, as at 13 December 2007, Genting Berhad had a notifiable
interest in the voting rights attached to 39,092,136 Ordinary 13 8/9p shares
representing 10.00% of the total voting rights in The Rank Group Plc.

The interest is registered in the name of Palomino Limited which is a
wholly-owned subsidiary of Genting International Plc, which is a subsidiary of
Genting Berhad.
