The Hermes UK Focus Fund

On 15 January 2009 Hermes Investment Management Limited notified the Company (under the obligations imposed by Section DTR5 of the FSA's Disclosure & Transparency Rules) that, as at 14 January 2009, The Hermes UK Focus Fund had a notifiable direct interest in the voting rights attached to 23,392,228 Ordinary 13 8/9p shares of The Rank Group Plc ('Rank'), representing 5.990% of the issued share capital of Rank.
