- Notification of Major Interest in Shares

Hong Leong Company (Malaysia) Berhad

On 5 July 2011, The Rank Group Plc ("Rank") received notification, under the obligations imposed by Section DTR5 of the FSA's Disclosure Rules and Transparency Rules, from Hong Leong Company (Malaysia) Berhad ("Hong Leong Co.") that, as at 1 July 2011, Hong Leong Co. had a notifiable interest in the voting rights attached to 334,724,642 ordinary 13⁸/₉p shares representing 85.70% of the total voting rights in Rank.

Notes

The voting rights in the shares are held by Asia Fountain Investment Company Limited ("AFI") and All Global Investments Limited ("AGIL") which hold 114,235,699 and 220,488,943 shares in Rank respectively.  AFI is a controlled undertaking of GuocoEquity Assets Limited, which is a controlled undertaking of Guoco Group Limited ("GGL"). AGIL is a controlled undertaking of GGL.  GGL is a controlled undertaking of GuoLine Overseas Limited which is a controlled undertaking of GuoLine Capital Assets Limited ("GCAL"). GCAL is a controlled undertaking of Hong Leong Company (Malaysia) Berhad.
