- Notification of Major Interest in Shares

On 29 November 2006, the Company received notification from BriTel Fund Trustees
Limited (for Trustees of BT Pension Scheme - see Note below), under the
obligations imposed by Sections 198 to 202 of the Companies Act 1985 that, as at
28 November 2006, it had a notifiable interest in 28,254,777 Ordinary 10p shares
of The Rank Group Plc (registered, or to be registered in the names set out in
the Schedule below) representing 5.22% of the issued share capital of The Rank
Group Plc.
