Sale of Blue Square Bet business

On 10 January 2013 The Rank Group Plc ("Rank") announced that it was undertaking a review of its loss-making Blue Square Bet business.  Following completion of that review, the Rank board concluded that Blue Square Bet should be sold.

Rank is pleased to announce that it has today completed the sale of the assets of its Blue Square Bet business to Betfair Group plc for £5 million.

Rank intends to focus its resources on further developing the Grosvenor Casinos and Mecca brands in venues and via digital channels.
