Rathbone Brothers Plc ('Rathbones')
Directorate Changes
Rathbone Brothers Plc, the listed investment management company, announces that
on 1 October 2004 Andy Pomfret, currently Finance Director, will succeed Roy
Morris as Chief Executive. Roy Morris will retire at that time but will remain
on the Board of Rathbone Brothers Plc as a Non-Executive Director.
Andy Pomfret, aged 44, joined Rathbones in 1999 as Finance Director, having
originally qualified with Peat Marwick & Mitchell (now KPMG) as a Chartered
Accountant. He spent 13 years with Kleinwort Benson Group, latterly as Finance
Director of Kleinwort Benson Private Bank.
Mark Powell, Chairman of Rathbones said 'Andy Pomfret's contribution to
Rathbones since he joined us as Finance Director and a member of the Executive
Committee, has been considerable and we are delighted he is moving up to become
Chief Executive'.
Commenting on Roy Morris' retirement, Mr. Powell added 'Roy's entire working
career has been spent in Rathbones. Having joined the organisation in 1957, he
became a partner in Rathbone Bros. & Co. When Rathbones merged with
Comprehensive Financial Services in 1988, Roy was appointed Managing Director
and then in 1997 he became Chief Executive. Throughout this time his commitment
to Rathbones has never wavered and he has made a massive contribution to the
development and growth of our business. It is good that his experience and
advice will continue to be available to us as a Non-Executive Director'.
