Ruukki chosen for extensive frame contract for ...
Press release 23 September 2009
Ruukki has been chosen to be the steel structure contractor for
production facilities to be built for Norway-based Framo Engineering
AS. Ruukki's delivery includes frame structure design, manufacture
and installation. The value of the deal is almost EUR 4 million.
The lead contractor and Ruukki's customer in this project is Veidekke
Entreprenør AS and the new facilities will be built in the island
municipality of Askøy near the Norwegian city of Bergen. Framo (Frank
Mohn AS) manufactures products for the oil and gas industry. The new
production facilities will total around 15,000 of floor space.
The frame will be optimised using Ruukki's own design solution to
give a best-value end result and good structural performance.
Professional project management will ensure seamless cooperation
between structure design, manufacture and installation. This in turn
will ensure top quality and reliability, as well as enhance working
safety at the construction site.
Installation of the frame will start at the beginning of January 2010
and will be completed by the end of May. The frame will mainly be
manufactured at Ruukki's sites in Finland.
