Trinity Mirror plc ("the Company") - Appointment of Non-executive director

Trinity Mirror plc announces that Steve Hatch is to join the board as a Non-executive director. He will serve on the Audit, Remuneration and Nomination Committees. 

Steve is the Regional Director of Facebook UK & Ireland. Prior to joining Facebook in 2014, Steve worked in some of the UK's most creative agencies including BMP DDB, Y&R and PHD before serving as CEO at the WPP media agency MEC from 2012 to 2014. 

David Grigson, Chairman said: "I'm delighted to have someone of Steve's calibre join us on the board. Alongside his work at Facebook, his career at some of the biggest media agencies in the UK means he knows the advertising and media industry inside out. This insight and experience is hugely relevant to our business and the ongoing expansion into digital."

On his appointment, Steve Hatch said: "It is with great pride and excitement that I take on this role with one of the UK's most well respected media organisations and look forward to working with Simon Fox, David Grigson and my fellow board members in the future." 

Steve will join Trinity Mirror on 1 December 2015.

In accordance with the UK Listing Rules, the Company confirms that there are no further details that are required to be disclosed under paragraph LR 9.6.13(1)-(6) of the UK Listing Rules in respect of Steve Hatch.
