Trinity Mirror plc: Appointment of Chairman
Trinity Mirror is pleased to announce that Sir Ian Gibson, CBE, will join the
Board as a Non-Executive Director and be appointed Chairman immediately
following the Annual General Meeting on 4th May 2006 when Sir Victor Blank will
retire from the Board.
Sir Ian, 59, currently holds Non-Executive Directorships at GKN plc, Greggs plc
and is the Senior Non-Executive Director at Northern Rock plc.
Sir Ian most recently was Chairman of BPB plc until its takeover by Saint-Gobain
at the end of 2005. Previously he was President of Nissan Europe and Senior Vice
President of Nissan Group in 1999. Sir Ian retired from Nissan in 2001. He has
also held Non-Executive Directorships at the Bank of England, Pro Drive Ltd.,
and Chelys Ltd. He was Deputy Chairman of Asda Group plc.
Sir Ian commented:

delighted to be joining the Board, and bringing my experience to the table as we
explore further options for growth and the creation of shareholder value.'
No further details required under chapter 6F2(b)-(g) of the FSA Listing Rules
remain to be disclosed.
