Trinity Mirror plc agrees sale of regional titles in the South
Trinity Mirror plc announces today that it has agreed to sell Kent Regional
Newspapers, East Surrey and Sussex Newspapers and Blackmore Vale Publishing,
which form part of its regional business in London and the South East, for
£64.15 million in cash representing a multiple of 1.9x 2006 revenues.
The three businesses, comprising 25 titles, are being acquired by Northcliffe
Media, the local media division of Daily Mail and General Trust plc.
The process leading to the disposal of the business in the Midlands and the
Sports Division and the remaining assets in London and the South East continues
to make progress with completion expected in the third quarter.
Trinity Mirror was advised by Rothschild in connection with this sale.
