         Trinity Mirror plc agrees sale of regional titles in the South         


Trinity Mirror plc announces today that it has agreed to sell Berkshire Regional
Newspapers, which forms part of its regional business in London and the South
East, for £10 million in cash representing a multiple of 1x 2006 revenues.

The business, comprising 14 titles, which includes the Reading Chronicle series,
is being acquired by Berkshire Media Group Ltd, a subsidiary of The Dunfermline
Press Ltd.

Trinity Mirror was advised by Rothschild in connection with this sale.
