Trinity Mirror plc ('the Company')

The Company has today received notice that following the merger of the
Phillips & Drew group of companies and UBS Brinson Limited and the aggregation
of their two holdings, UBS Management Limited, Phillips & Drew Life Limited
and UBS Asset Management International Limited have an interest in 33,632,710
ordinary 10p shares of the Company.  This represents 11.60% of the issued
share capital of the Company.
