GENERIC ANNOUNCEMENT


The Company has today received notification from The Capital Group Companies,
Inc. on behalf of its affiliates, including Capital Guardian Trust Company, 
Capital International Limited, Capital International S.A., and Capital 
International, Inc. have non-beneficial interests in 31,818,039
(previously 32,259,539) Trinity Mirror Ordinary Shares, representing 10.93% 
(previously 11.08%) of the issued share capital .
