GENERIC ANNOUNCEMENT

The Company has today received notification from The Capital Group Companies,
Inc. on behalf of its affiliates,  including Capital Guardian Trust Company, 
Capital International Limited, Capital International S.A., and Capital 
International, Inc. have reduced their beneficial interests by 5500  to 
34,977,122 (previously 34,982,622) Trinity Mirror Ordinary Shares, representing 
11.998% (previously 12.00%)  of the issued share capital .
