The Real Good Food Company plc ("RGFC" the "Group"), owns the largest independent non-refining distributor of sugar in Europe (Napier Brown), supplies bakery ingredients (Renshaw and R&W Scott) and manufactures patisserie and desserts (Haydens Bakery)
The Board of RGFC is pleased to announce the appointment of new Managing Directors at its Napier Brown and R & W Scott subsidiaries. In addition, two directors have joined the Group Executive to provide support in areas of strategic importance.
These appointments continue the re-shaping of the overall Group structure, as it seeks to maximise the potential of all businesses within the Group.
At Napier Brown, Jon Tanner becomes Managing Director, with immediate effect. Jon will report directly to Pieter Totté, Executive Chairman of the Group, and will assume responsibility for all functions within the business, as well as continuing to oversee all commercial activity on a day-to-day basis.
Jon joined Real Good Food Company in March 2011 as Sales Director of Napier Brown. He possesses extensive experience of the food industry, but began his career with a brief foray in the City, as a Fund Manager's Assistant. Jon then studied Agriculture at Harper Adams Agricultural College before embarking on a career trading commodities with Cargill.
He joined RHM in 1999 and held several senior commercial roles in British Bakeries, Rank Hovis and McDougall's Foods before being appointed Sales & Marketing Director of Rank Hovis, the UK's leading flour miller, in 2003. In 2008, Jon joined Calor Gas as Sales and Marketing Director and delivered a complete re-positioning of the Calor brand and successive years of sales and profit growth.
At R & W Scott, John Easton becomes Managing Director, also with immediate effect. John will also report directly to Executive Chairman Pieter Totté, and will have responsibility for all business functions at the Carluke plant.
John joined Renshaw in 2006 and has nearly 25 years' experience in the food industry previously holding senior site operational positions at Express Foods (part of Grand Metropolitan) and Vion Foods.
Group Executive appointments
The RGFC Group Executive is being strengthened with two new appointments. David Wright becomes Group Operations Director and will oversee plans for investment in production and operational facilities required to meet sales growth plans as well as identifying cross divisional opportunities in purchasing, technical and development. David joined Renshaw in 2005; he worked before in senior operational roles at United Biscuits and Northern Foods and was Operations Director at Campbell Soup and Tetley Tea.
Andrew Brown becomes Group Brand and Marketing Director and, as well as continuing to build on his work in revitalising the Whitworths brand in sugar, will provide strategic direction for our plans to leverage the Renshaw and R&W Scott brands. Andrew joined Napier Brown in 2008 following a career where he held a number of Marketing Director roles at the RHM Group on brands such as Hovis and Mr Kipling.
