        Reckitt & Colman plc - Adjournment of EGM

Reckitt  &  Colman also announces that  it  must  further
adjourn  the Extraordinary General Meeting to be held  on
Friday, 1 October 1999 to approve the proposed change  of
name of the Company.  The meeting will be postponed until
Friday,  19 November 1999 at 10.00 a.m. at the  Company's
offices, 67 Alma Road, Windsor, Berkshire.

As  previously announced, a condition of the proposed 
merger, the approval of  the  transaction  by  the  
Federal Trade Commission, has yet to be satisfied.
