Reckitt Benckiser: Disposal of Firelighters Business
Reckitt Benckiser, the world's number one household cleaning company, today
announced the disposal of its European Firelighter business to Standard
Brands. The proceeds will be £29m.
The Firelighter business is based in Ireland but also has sales in the UK,
France, Belgium and Germany. The business will be treated as discontinued for
the whole of 2001.
This brings the cumulative disposals to date to over £105m of net revenues
producing marginal contribution of £23m for which the proceeds to date amount
to over £130m.
