New Multi-Asset Strategy Launch
Record plc, the specialist currency manager, announces the launch of a new multi-asset fund, Dynamic Macro Strategy.
The strategy builds on the strong foundations of its top-quartile performing Dynamic Macro Currency strategy, aiming to deliver higher long-term risk-adjusted returns from the expanded asset mix.
Headed by John Floyd, who has over 25 years macro and currency investing experience, the strategy will utilise FX, fixed income, equity indices, and commodities in order to create absolute returns which are uncorrelated with traditional assets and other hedge funds. The strategy will be run in addition to the currency sleeve, where net returns were 5.7% over the past 12-months*. The Dynamic Macro Strategy is targeting annualised double digit returns.
The Dynamic Macro Strategy will sit in Record's portfolio of return-seeking strategies, providing another example of the bespoke solutions the specialist manager has developed for its clients and further diversifying the Company's offerings.
John Floyd, Portfolio Manager of the new Dynamic Macro Strategy Fund commented:
"We are very pleased to have launched the Dynamic Marco Strategy and are excited by the potential offered by this new mandate. It provides investors access to a broader range of assets such as fixed income, commodities and equity indices compared to our well-known Dynamic Macro Currency Strategy. The broader mix of assets will allow for a more direct expression of investment views, while targeting higher returns that are not necessarily correlated to equity market movements, as we witnessed in much of the recent COVID-19 period. The timing of this launch is particularly opportune to capitalize on what we perceive as once-in-a-generation macro opportunities."
Leslie Hill, CEO of Record plc commented:
"I am delighted to announce the launch of the macro fund, directly in-line with our growth strategy, as outlined at our recent results. We are committed to bring to market new products where we believe there is investor appetite. The macro product adds to our range of strategies which complement Record's longstanding systematic funds. By providing John and his team further flexibility to invest in asset classes outside of currency markets, we are looking to maximise the opportunities available to investors. We look forward to following the team's performance and keeping the market updated with further anticipated launches."
