Board Changes
Redrow plc today announces the appointment of Alan Bowkett as Non Executive
Chairman with immediate effect.
Alan Bowkett (56) has extensive Board experience across a range of industry
sectors. He is currently Chairman of aerospace and safety products group, Seton
House (formerly Britax International). Previously he was Chairman of UK
engineering group Doncasters; Chairman of Acordis, a Netherlands-based chemical
and man-made fibres business, and Chairman of Metzeler APS, a Benelux-based
automotive components supplier. Until 2006, Alan had been a Non Executive
Director of UK brewing company Greene King for 13 years and had served as
Chairman of the Audit Committee.
Over the course of his career Alan has held a number of senior executive roles
including Chief Executive of Berisford plc, the food service equipment business,
from 1992 to 1999. Previous roles included Chief Executive of RHP Bearings Ltd
and Chief Executive of building products business, Boulton and Paul plc.
Alan succeeds Jim Martin who took on the role of interim Chairman on 30 March
2007. Following the appointment of Alan, Jim will retire from the Board on 11
September 2007. The Board would like to thank Jim for taking on the role of
interim Chairman and also for the considerable contribution he has made to the
development of Redrow over his 10 years as a Non Executive Director.
Commenting on the appointment of Alan Bowkett, Neil Fitzsimmons Chief Executive,
