HOLDING IN COMPANY

Redrow plc on 7th May 2004 received the following notification from Bridgemere
Investments Limited:-


TRANSFER OF REDROW PLC SHARES

We refer to our interest in 14,560,155 ordinary shares of 10p each in your
Company and write to notify you pursuant to Sections 198 and following Companies
Act 1985 that the beneficial interest in such shares has been transferred, by
way of a dividend in specie, as follows:
     
i)   885,000 shares to Steve Morgan of Carden House, Park Estate, St
     Brelade, Jersey, JE3 8EQ
     
ii)  13,675,115 shares to Bridgemere Securities Limited.


Bridgemere Securities Limited is wholly owned by Walbrook Trustees (Guernsey)
Limited (as Trustees of the Trinity Trust) of PO Box 671, St Peter's House, Le
Bordage, St Peter Port, Guernsey, GY1 3ST.

The transfers were completed on 30 March 2004 and accordingly we ceased at that
time to be interested in those shares.
