HOLDING IN COMPANY


Redrow plc have received notification on 11 October 2004 from Morgan Stanley
Securities Limited ('MSSL') that their notifiable interest constitutes 3.04%
(4,832,526 ordinary shares) of the issued share capital of Redrow plc.


The notification also stated that MSSL have transferred from time to time
4,698,036 shares to third parties on terms which gives them the right to require
the return of an equivalent number of shares.  Accordingly, their interest in
4,698,036 shares is pursuant to Section 208(5) of the Act.
