Further to the announcement made on 11 April, the new names of the two parent
companies have been formally registered with the relevant authorities in the UK
and the Netherlands.
With effect from Monday 22 April, shares in the two companies will trade under
their new names.
Reed Elsevier PLC (formerly Reed International P.L.C) shares will trade on the
London Stock Exchange under the new code REL. Share certificates in the name of
Reed Elsevier PLC are being issued to ordinary shareholders to replace
certificates previously issued in the company's former name.
Reed Elsevier NV (formerly Elsevier NV) shares will trade on the Euronext
Amsterdam under the new code REN.
Trading on the New York Stock Exchange in the form of American Depositary
Shares, evidenced by American Depositary Receipts, will continue under the
unchanged trading symbol RUK for Reed Elsevier PLC and ENL for Reed Elsevier NV.
