Appointment of Non-executive Director

 

Ms Marina Wyatt

Leading international sustainable waste management business Shanks Group plc ('Shanks' or 'the Group') is pleased to announce that Marina Wyatt joins its Board as a Non-executive Director with effect from today. She also becomes a member of the Group's Audit, Remuneration and Nomination Committees and will chair the Audit Committee after the conclusion of the Annual General Meeting on 25 July 2013.

Ms Wyatt is the Chief Financial Officer at TomTom NV and a member of its Management Board.  She is a Chartered Accountant and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

Following nine years with Arthur Andersen in London and the US, she then joined Psion Plc as its Group Controller and became Group Finance Director in 1996. In 2002 she was appointed Chief Financial Officer of Colt Telecom Plc and joined TomTom as its Chief Financial Officer in 2005. Ms Wyatt previously served as a Non-executive Director of Symbian Ltd and of Blackwell Publishing Ltd.

Shanks confirms that there is no further information to be disclosed under paragraph 9.6.13 of the Listing Rules with regard to the appointment of Ms Wyatt.

 

Mr Peter Johnson

Shanks also announces today that after eight years dedicated service as a Non-executive Director and Chairman of the Audit Committee, Peter Johnson will be retiring from the Board following the conclusion of the Annual General Meeting on 25 July 2013.  Peter joined the Shanks Board in 2005 whilst serving as Finance Director of Taylor Woodrow plc, a position he held from 2002 until 2008.
