Update on 2019 Annual General Meeting resolution votes
2 April 2020
The Board has continued to consider the votes against resolutions 4, the re-election of Sir David McMurtry (22.40%) and 5, the re-election of John Deer (22.75%), at the October 2019 AGM. Sir David McMurtry and John Deer together founded Renishaw in 1973 and have been instrumental in the success of Renishaw in becoming a global leader in high-precision metrology and healthcare technology.
Since the October 2019 AGM and as part of succession planning for the founders, the Company announced in January 2020 a change to the role of the Company's Executive Deputy Chairman and joint founder, John Deer. John has decided to step back from his executive responsibilities and has taken on a role as Non-Executive Deputy Chairman.
The Board has continued to engage with shareholders to understand their views on this and any other significant matter at the Annual General Meeting and the annual Investor Day, which includes Q&A sessions with the full Board of Renishaw. There are also Q&A sessions with the Executive Chairman, Chief Executive and Group Finance Director as part of the full and half-year results webcasts. The Board also regularly reviews the Company's investor relations policy.
