Renold PLC 03 March 2004 RENOLD APPOINTS NEW GROUP CHIEF EXECUTIVE The Board of Renold plc, the international engineering group producing a wide range of precision engineering products, announces that it has appointed Robert Davies, age 49, as an Executive Director with effect from 8 March 2004. On 7 April 2004 Robert Davies will take over the role of Chief Executive Officer from Ian Trotter who, for health reasons, is to take early retirement from the Group effective 6 April 2004. Ian will oversee the handover to Robert during March 2004. Robert Davies has a background in electrical engineering and held senior management roles in Lucas and GE both in the UK and overseas. He was also Chief Executive Officer of Druck Holdings PLC, a listed company on the London Stock Exchange prior to its sale to GE. The Chairman, Mr Roger Leverton, commented: 'We are pleased to have attracted someone of Robert's calibre and experience and believe he will contribute significantly to the development of Renold's strategic objectives. Ian has made an immense contribution to Renold during his 13 years on the Board, firstly as divisional Managing Director of the Chain Businesses during a period of significant change and, since 2001, as Chief Executive during which an extensive restructuring programme has taken place. On behalf of my colleagues I would like to express the Board's thanks for the important contribution Ian has made to the Group and we wish him well in his retirement.' Mr Davies does not have any current directorships nor, save as set out above, any past directorships in any other publicly quoted company.
