Renold plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Barbara Beckett as
Non-Executive Director effective 1 March 2005.

Barbara is the Group Marketing Director of BAA plc and has extensive experience
throughout the retail/service industries and has had operations management
experience with several major companies including BT plc.

Commenting on the appointment, Roger Leverton, Chairman of Renold plc, said 'The
Board is delighted with Barbara's appointment. Barbara's extensive marketing
background will complement the skills, knowledge and experience of existing
members of the Board and we look forward to working with her in the future'.

Renold confirms that there are no details that are required to be disclosed in
connection with Barbara Beckett under paragraph 6.F.2(b) to (g) of the Listing
Rules of the Financial Services Authority.

Renold plc also announces that Tim Fortune, a Non-Executive Director since 1997,
will be retiring as a Director at the conclusion of the Annual General Meeting
in July 2005.
