                               BOARD APPOINTMENT


Renold plc is pleased to announce that Peter E Bream is joining the Board as an
Executive Director with effect from 1 July 2006.

Peter Bream, aged 39, was Finance Director of Provalis PLC, a UK listed company,
for three years until March 2006. Prior to joining Provalis, Peter was a
Divisional Finance Director for API Group PLC, also a UK listed company. Peter
is a chartered accountant and has an engineering degree from Cambridge
University.

Peter will take over the position of Group Finance Director from Tony Brown
following the conclusion of the Annual General Meeting in September 2006, when
Tony will retire from the Board. To ensure an orderly transition Tony has agreed
to enter into a post retirement arrangement with the Company until 31 March
2007.

Renold confirms there are no details that are required to be disclosed in
connection with Peter Bream in connection with Rule 9.6.13 of the Listing Rules
of the Financial Services Authority.
