Rentokil Initial PLC 8 August 2001 Rentokil Initial Purchases Four Bolt-on Acquisitions _____________________________________________________ Rentokil Initial, the global business services company, announces that it has spent £5m on the acquisition of four bolt-on businesses, with aggregate turnover of £4.8m, within its specialised service activities of Hygiene, Pest Control and Tropical Plants. In Hygiene the purchase of Pigeaud strengthens its existing operations in The Netherlands as well as extending its service capabilities in the 'clean-room' garments market. Within Pest Control, Entech provides its US business with a new city branch location in Baltimore, Maryland, which will benefit from access to the company's existing tropical plants customer base in that city. Also in Pest Control the acquisition of GEA in Milan adds further critical mass to its Italian business. Finally, within the US Tropical Plants business, the acquisition of Indoor Plantscaping in Greensboro strengthens its existing position in the 'Research Triangle' of North Carolina covering Raleigh, Charlotte and Greensboro.
