ELECTRONIC MONITORING CONTRACT
The Directors of Reliance Security Group plc ('Reliance') are pleased to
announce that Reliance Secure Task Management Limited ('RSTM'), a wholly owned
subsidiary, has taken over the running of the Electronic Monitoring Services
contract in the south of England for the Home Office and the pilot contract
for the Scottish Office, both formerly operated by GSSC Europe Limited
('GSSCE').
RSTM has also acquired certain of the assets of GSSCE in consideration for
which it has waived all claims against GSSCE and its parent company relating
to an action brought by RSTM against GSSCE for breach of contract in April
2000. The contract to January 2004 has an estimated turnover of £5 million per
annum in a full year.
Commenting on this development, Geoff Haslehurst, Managing Director of
Reliance Security Group plc, said:
'We are pleased to have concluded our action against GSSC. As a leader in the
provision of specialist technology and services to the Criminal Justice
system, we are pleased once again to be providing electronic monitoring which
we helped to pioneer in the UK. We believe it will have an increasingly
important role.'
