CITY CENTRE RESTAURANTS PLC
AGM Statement
At today's Annual General Meeting, City Centre's Chairman, Alan Jackson
commented as follows on current trading:
'The Group has made a good start to the current year with like-for-like sales
increases to the end of the first quarter of 11% in Leisure Parks, 1% in
Concessions and 2% in High Street Restaurants. The first few weeks of the second
quarter were slow but trading has now picked up well, with good like-for-like
increases over the last four weeks.
'Leisure Parks performed well throughout the period. We have opened four new
Frankie & Benny's restaurants with up to a further seven more expected to open
in the current year. Additionally, our two other divisions, Concessions and High
Street Restaurants, are also proving robust.
'I am confident that the actions we have taken in restructuring and refocusing
the business leave us well positioned to continue to restore shareholder value
and I look forward to reporting good progress for the first half of 2002.'
