The Restaurant Group Plc
AGM Statement
At today's Annual General Meeting Alan Jackson, Chairman of The Restaurant Group
PLC, will make the following comments on current trading:
We are encouraged by a good first quarter performance with a strong
like-for-like sales increase of 3% for the Principal Trading brands. This trend
has continued at this level in recent weeks and bodes well for a good first half
performance.
We have opened 5 new Frankie & Benny's restaurants and 3 new Concession units so
far this year where initial indications of trading are very encouraging. Our new
openings programme this year is weighted towards the second half. In total, we
plan to open fifteen to eighteen new units during 2004.
We are pleased with the performance of all three divisions and we look forward
to reporting further good progress for the first half of the year, in September.
