The Restaurant Group plc
AGM Statement
At the AGM of The Restaurant Group plc, to be held later today, Alan Jackson
(Chairman) will make the following remarks:
Current trading
We are encouraged by performance so far this year with a like-for-like sales
increase of 4% for the 19 weeks to 13 May 2007, just ahead of our expectations
for this stage of the year. This is an encouraging performance, on top of the
4% sales increase for the same period last year.
Ongoing opening programme
Our new openings programme is progressing well, with eight new sites opened in
the year to date. We continue to expect to open 30-35 new units during the full
year.
Outlook
Our brands are well positioned to offer value and quality to customers and
continue to deliver very satisfactory performances for the Group. We look
forward to reporting further strong progress for the first half of the year,
when we announce our interim results in September 2007.
