Appointment of Finance Director


The Board of the Restaurant Group plc is pleased to announce the appointment of
Mr Stephen Critoph (age 44) as Finance Director. He will join the Company during
the summer and will sit on the Company's Board.

He joins from Compass Group where most recently he was International Development
Director, Moto Hospitality responsible for initiating and co-ordinating the
development of Moto in Europe. Prior to this role he was Finance Director of
Compass, Italy where he was closely involved in integrating the £300 million
acquisition of Onama into the Compass group. From 2000 - 2002 Stephen was
Corporate Development Director, Roadside Services which included Moto, Little
Chef , Travelodge , Harry Ramsdens and Burger King, a £1 billion turnover
business. He joined Compass in 2000.

Previously, he was with Granada Group plc from1987 - 2000 and Touche Ross from
1982 - 1987. He qualified as a chartered Accountant in 1985.

Stephen is an experienced individual having held both finance and development
