IBM selects RTSe as one of 13 European mobile e-commerce partners
Alliance to drive European mobile e-business
RTS Networks Group PLC, which trades as RTSe, the provider of next-generation
e- and m- business solutions, is pleased to announce that it has been selected
by IBM as one of 13 global leaders in Internet services to drive e-business in
Europe.
IBM identified RTSe as part of an alliance of the industry's top Internet
Professional Services firms to drive the European development of m-commerce
architectures and mobile e-business applications. Other members of the
alliance include Agency.com, Cross Systems, Digia, Icon Medialab and
MarchFIRST. The selection of these partners is part of IBM's worldwide Web
Integrator Initiative.
The development is part of IBM's strategy to work with leading companies in
Europe, helping them to use IBM technology to capture new business in specific
market segments. The focus of the alliance has been RTSe Finland, where many
of RTSe's leading edge wireless solutions originate. RTSe Finland has been
working with IBM since 1999.
As part of this alliance, the benefits for RTSe will include:
+ jointly enabling customers for mobile business;
+ access to IBM investment in specialist support programmes tailored
to the Group's consulting, web design and integration services;
+ mobile training;
+ joint marketing and business development programmes;
+ access to IBM research;
+ access to IBM customer relationships and software including
Websphere Everyplace Suite, Websphere Transcoding Publisher and Data
Sychronisation Software.
Adrian Kohn, IBM's European Manager, said:

businesses use to create content and services for these devices, and we're

wireless solutions using IBM hardware and software.
'In a few years, more than 60 per cent of all Web transactions will be
triggered by mobile devices, making mobile e-commerce a tremendous opportunity
for businesses to provide new personalised, location-based services over the
