                     Statement Re: Press Comment



Further  to  recent  press  speculation, the  Board  of  City  Centre
Restaurants  Plc  wishes to clarify that it is not currently  in  any
discussions  pursuant  to an offer for the Company.   The  Board  had
received a preliminary conditional approach from a third party at 65p
per share which it rejected as undervaluing the Company.

The  senior management continues to progress its strategic review  of
the  Group  with a view to maximising shareholder value.   A  further
announcement  on the outcome of this strategic review  will  be  made
