Following the issuance by the Company of a further 107,843,137 ordinary shares,
the Company was informed on 19th July 2006 that the Canada Life Group of
Companies has an interest in aggregate of 24,550,000 ordinary shares in
Mavinwood plc, representing 5.45% of the Company's issued share capital. The
aggregate interest is split as follows:

Canada Life Limited                     12,414,935 shares (2.76%)

CF Canlife Unit Trusts (managed by CFM) 12,135,065 shares (2.69%)
