                        RICARDO ANNOUNCES BOARD CHANGES
                                       
Ricardo plc, the UK's leading independent automotive engineering consultancy,
announces that Bill Foreman, currently non-executive director and Chairman of
the Audit Committee will resign immediately following the company's AGM on 3
November 2000. Professor Ian Percy has been appointed to the  board  as  non-
executive director with effect from 1 July 2000 and will assume the role of
Chairman of the Audit Committee following Bill Foreman's resignation.  Bill
joined Ricardo in September 1992 and is stepping down to pursue his other
business interests.
