Rightmove signs contracts worth £1m
with leading property developers
Rightmove plc announces contract signings with three major new homes developers,
contributing around £1m to earnings in a full year. The UK's number one property
website has signed contracts with George Wimpey, David Wilson Homes and Redrow.
Following three separate successful trials the house builders have committed to
advertise their developments on the Rightmove.co.uk website. George Wimpey,
David Wilson Homes and Redrow market around 500 new homes developments at any
one time.
Rightmove anticipates that the total number of new home developments advertised
on the website will be up approximately 50% to about 2,325 at the half year
(30th June 2006) from 1,549 developments at 31 December 2005. Rightmove now has
18 of the largest 20 UK house builders subscribing to its website advertising
service.
Estate agents, lettings agents and new homes developers pay a monthly fee per
development or estate agency office to list their properties on the UK's largest
property web site. In 2005 the average monthly fee for all customers was £175.
At the start of 2006, monthly fees for new home developers were increased to
£240 - £250 per month per development although discounts are available for
developers listing more than 25 developments.
